Former National Badminton player Oshadie Kuruppu (27) passed away last Tuesday. Oshadi has been undergoing treatment for Leukemia for nearly two years. The former student of Visakha Vidyalaya in Colombo, won the women’s team silver medal at the 12th South Asia Games in India.
She also represented the Asian Badminton Team Championships in 2016 and the Summer Universiade tournament in 2017.
Oshadie is a Sports Science and Management degree holder from the Sabaragamuwa University. Oshadie’s remains lie at Boralasgamuwa Florists until 4 pm today (10) and the funeral will be held at Godigamuwa cemetery at 4.30 p.m today.
